Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity New Construction Build
Each quarter, 10 employees at Medley Equipment Company partner with our neighborhood Charleston’s to frame a house and job site clean up with the Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity to make a positive impact and help build a stronger community.
This was such a great experience! All but one of our team of 8 was female! No Power tools! Just hammers and nails! We finished the project early and were even able to install the rafters and insulation!
Once selected, Habitat homeowners must partner with us throughout the process. This partnership includes performing “sweat equity,” or helping to build their own home or the homes of others in our homeownership program. Sweat equity can also include taking homeownership classes or performing volunteer work in a Habitat ReStore.
Homeowners must also be able and willing to pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat makes a reasonable effort to ensure that an affordable mortgage does not exceed 30% of the homeowner’s gross monthly income. Mortgage payments are cycled back into the community to help build additional Habitat houses.
Together we can lift up our community.
The Medley Cares program promotes team building throughout the company, community awareness, and creates a sense of value and purpose. If you’re a Medley Equipment Company employee and would like to participate, or a Charitable Organization that needs helping hands, please contact Jennifer Owens at (405) 946-3453 Ext. 1261 for more information.
